To spray or not to spray? That is the question.
I was wondering about this the other day. We’ve always recommended to designers and other clients that they spray fabric protector on wool carpets. The reason for this is simple: Wool doesn’t have any built-in stain resistance.
However, many new carpets are wool blends. Commonly, they’re either wool and nylon or wool and polyester.
The question is, when you have nylon or polyester in a carpet, could there be a problem spraying fabric protector? After all, the new synthetic fibers have built-in stain resistance and we wouldn’t want to get in the way of that.
Well, I did a little research and the conclusion is clear. You should absolutely stain protect wool blend carpets. Fabric protector does no harm, makes wool-blend carpets easier to clean and provides more soil resistance.
Moving forward, we will heavily recommend to designers and other clients that they use fabric protector on wool-blend carpets. You won’t regret it.
