Designers Love Wide Binding

Stair carpet and area rugs look beautiful with a wide binding. Just make sure your client will take the care that is required.

Designers and their clients love a wide binding. Anything from 1.5″ to 3″ and with mitered corners.

They like it on area rugs in the living room or for runners on the stairway.

It’s a beautiful look. However, one thing you want to keep in mind is where that rug is going to be.

Who is going to be walking on that rug? Are they going to be wearing shoes? Once that wide binding gets torn and soiled it’s not going to look too good anymore.

Remember: You can always secure the edge much more thoroughly with a narrow binding.

When you choose a wide binding for your clients, make sure it’s going to be placed in an area where there’s not going to be a lot of foot traffic.
