We all know that carpet is manufactured in rectangles but we are able to make them round or oval.

A lot of times, when we do this, it’s because we don’t want nasty corners protruding into doorways, walkways, or other spaces where we don’t want corners.

Consider the photo below of a job we did last year. This is a beautiful high-end Italian rug, Radici Giotto in Royal Blue, which we chose for a seating area.

It was a little uncertain as to how we were going to do it, so we suggested rounding the corners of the rectangle to make a very gentle oval shape. It worked out perfect for the seating area.

So, if you don’t want to see cumbersome corners, think about rounding those corners. Consider round or oval rugs.
